Intentional Discipleship / Family Faith Formation

In times past, Family Faith Formation was known as Religious Education, a name that implies the conveying of information.  Certainly there needs to be shared information, but Family Faith Formation is much more. Family Faith Formation goes beyond informing, to forming disciples, disciples who will take on the Mission of Jesus: To Love as He Loved.  It is our goal that ALL will be transformed.

Forming Disciples: Family Faith Formation, K-7th grade
There are four pillars of Family Faith Formation:  Proclamation of the Gospel, prayer and worship, service, and building community.  St. Jude of the Lake Family Faith Formation makes use of all of these means to evangelize our young people.

Pre-K through 7th grade classes are offered each Wednesday at 4:15 p.m.  Grade 1 through Grade 7 have an additional 6:15 p.m. class each Wednesday (depending on the enrollment).

Youth & Young Adult Formation

Sacrament of Confirmation: 8th Grade

The Church has always respected the sensus fidei of the faithful. Pope Francis writes, “As part of his mysterious love for humanity, God furnishes the totality of the faithful with an instinct of faith – sensus fidei – which helps them discern what is truly of God.” In consultation with parents and staff, we have decided to offer the sacrament of Confirmation to students at the end of their 8th grade year.
