75th Anniversary Celebration
Nov 5, 2014
The weekend of our anniversary has come and gone. Hours of planning and preparation for the liturgy, and the following reception have come to fruition and we had a great celebration of our faith community. There are so many people to thank for their efforts, but if I start listing them individually I fear that I might miss someone.
The anniversary celebration is a wonderful example of the body of Christ. We have many differing gifts, but they all complement each other so that wonderful things can happen. Not everyone has a beautiful voice, but those who do come together as a choir to enhance our liturgy. Not everyone knows all the details in setting up for a Mass, but those who do are sacristans. The same holds true for all our liturgical ministries and so there are the people we need to serve at altar, distribute communion, and read the Word of God.
There are those who are gifted with organizational skills, culinary skills, and a willingness to serve that planned and prepared the meal for and cleaned up after the reception. Each role is vitally important! Without everyone using their gifts and talents an event such as this celebration would not happen. How blessed we are to have members willing to joyfully share their gifts.
