Coming Back Home
Jun 29, 2017
Coming back home…that’s how I feel as I type this introduction of myself. My name is Julie Doyle, and some of you may remember me from my days of teaching third grade at St. Jude of the Lake School. I am excited to be the new Family Faith Formation & Liturgy Coordinator.
It’s been fun for me to see the changes that have happened over the last several years at St. Jude, and become reacquainted with old friends and familiar faces. It has also been fun to meet people I’ve never met before, and I am amazed – once again – of the energy and enthusiasm that is so apparent in this community.
If you have been giving some thought as to becoming involved at St. Jude, I’d highly recommend it. We can both be “new” at that same time! We are looking for volunteers to become involved in our Family Faith Formation programs on Wednesday nights. Do you like snacks? Are you available to supervise kids for an hour? Want to try your hand at sharing the faith? Whatever your interests are, we have a place for you. Just let me know.
My hope is to encourage and strengthen your faith as we engage in activities, events and conversations that bring Scripture to life, offer practical ways to live out our
convictions, and hear stories that inspire us to hang on when life is hard. Part of what makes my job unique is the opportunity to listen, and share thoughts and insights.
I once read a quote that said “If you judge a book by its cover, you might miss out on an amazing story.” Everyone in this world has beautiful stories to share. It’s better to hear those stories than to judge them. I look forward to meeting you and hearing your story!
