Prayer @ St. Jude of the Lake

Eucharistic Adoration

“O come let us adore him” sings the psalmist. Our Lord, truly present in the Blessed Sacrament, is adored and worshiped. Spend time in Church praying before the Blessed Sacrament.

First Thursday of each month and every Thursday during Advent and Lent.

Cenacle Prayer

Feel called to pray for others and have a support group for your own faith journey? Please join us! We are part of the “Marian Movement of Priests.” Pray as a group or at home as requested through the parish prayer chain.

We meet weekly on Wednesdays after Mass, pray daily.

Seven Sisters Apostolate

The Seven Sisters Apostolate is a call for women to strengthen the Church by ensuring that a Holy Hour is prayed each day of the week for the sole intention of our parish priests. It is a “holy wasting” or “lavishing of prayer” for their deeper conformity to Christ. Each woman commits to a Holy Hour on a distinct day of the week, thus covering a complete week. The Holy Hour is ideally prayed in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament, either in an Adoration Chapel or in front of a Tabernacle. We ask for a one-year commitment, renewable each May.

Frequency: Weekly, Duration: One Hour

Prayer Service Ministry

This ministry provides a communion prayer service when the parish priest is unavailable or when a priest cannot be secured to offer Mass at the 9 AM daily Mass time. The prayer service leader needs to be an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, will lead prayer, reads the Gospel after the first reading and the responsorial Psalm is read. Then will read a reflection on the Gospel from a Catholic source. Training and resources are available for both the prayer service format and to become a Eucharistic Minister.

Frequency: Once every 6 to 8 weeks. Time Required: 1 hour to prepare the gospel reflection and intentions.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

This joy -filled crowd makes prayer shawls for people in need of support. If you knit, crochet or want to learn, join our group!

Frequency: Meet 1st Thursdays of the month in parish office from 1-2:30 pm. Time required: 1-1/2 hrs. for meeting.

The rosary is a beautiful and powerful prayer. Over the years, this group has donated over 40,000 rosaries to St Jude, The Archdiocese, United Hospitals and at missions throughout the world. Consider joining this at home ministry that promotes prayer world-wide.

We have a group pot-luck meeting every second Thursday of odd numbered months at the Ark 6-8PM Frequency: Flexible. Time required: Flexible commitment.
