Financial Giving @ St. Jude of the Lake
We fulfill our parish mission through prayer, participation, and generosity. United as faithful disciples of Christ, God will use our gifts to bear fruit in our parish, community, and world. Whatever the level of your current financial giving to St. Jude, I humbly ask you to increase it by 0.5% of your annual household income. If you’re currently giving 1%, please consider giving 1.5%; if 5%, please consider giving 5.5%. With this increase in generous giving, we will reach more of the goals that God wants to accomplish through us.
I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit – fruit that will last (John 15:16).
Thank you for your continued investment in the St. Jude parish family. By our collective prayer, participation, and generosity, our roots will continue to grow, so that many generations after us can benefit from the fruit of our lived discipleship.
Secure our Future
It is heartwarming to see our parishioners participating in the life of our church with such joyful hope. So many of you continue to commit to prayer, reconciliation, adoration, and active participation in Mass whether that be in person or virtually. Still, others displayed exceptional generosity in offering financial gifts for our parish, school, and food shelf. Thank you for making St. Jude of the Lake Church and School an amazing place!
Additionally, over the past years, we have increased our students from 43 to 114 at the day school, we have restored the tuckpointing on the Church and school, remodeled the ARK, replaced the playground equipment and basketball hoops with all new equipment.
While amazed by the fruit produced in the past, I’m confident that the best is yet to come! We want to continue planting, growing, and dreaming big, but a factor that limits our dreams is financial restraint. We are the generations that God is calling to continue the mission of our parish. No one else can educate our children, feed the poor, and provide the Sacraments in Mahtomedi as we can. Giving to one of our three endowment funds will not only secure the future of St. Jude Church and School but will allow us to continue our mission for many years to come.
Matching Grant Opportunity
It is the mission of Catholic schools to form a child’s mind, body, and spirit. To that do that we need the help of our community!
Thanks to the generous, visionary funders of the Catholic Schools Center of Excellence (CSCOE), Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis are receiving grants for projects that further CSCOE’s two primary missions — achieving and maintaining excellence, and increasing enrollment.
St. Jude of the Lake Catholic School has been the recipient of multiple matching grants. For every dollar we receive, up to $7500, CSCOE matches the donation. Easy math, 1+1=2! No gift is too small, it all adds up when we pool it together.
Thank you and CSCOE in your support of Catholic schools!
You may want to consider making a gift of appreciated stock or mutual fund shares rather than a cash donation. A gift of appreciated property often provides increased tax benefits. Please contact your tax adviser to see if this makes sense for you, and then contact our Business Administrator, Michael Holdorph, for more information on how to donate stock.

April 24/25 – Catholic Home Missions
Our mission is to help people know, love and serve God locally and globally.
The Catholic Home Missions collection is a U. S. Conference of Catholic Bishops appeal that provides resources to strengthen the Church in the U.S. by providing funds to enhance pastoral ministry through catechesis, seminarian and lay training and education and more in mission dioceses that lack the basic resources to provide spiritual care in their communities. Dioceses that have received funding from this appeal comprise over 45% of all U.S. dioceses!
Examples in the U.S of dioceses that have received funds include Birmingham, Alabama where the Catholic population is less than 3%. Closer to home, the Diocese of Crookston, MN has received support to help with educating seven seminarians who will serve in the Crookston diocese.
